Usage Guidelines

1. Preparation: Ensure the test subject is clean-shaven where the mask seals to the face and has not eaten, smoked, or consumed flavoured drinks 30 minutes prior to the test.
2. Sensitivity Test: Conduct a sensitivity test to determine the test subject's ability to detect the bitter taste of the solution.
3. Fit Test: Have the test subject don the respirator correctly, place the test hood over their head, and administer the fit test solution while the subject performs a series of exercises to assess the mask's fit.
4. Evaluation: If the test subject detects the bitter taste during the fit test, the fit is inadequate, and adjustments or a different mask size/model should be tried.

Maintenance and Storage

• Cleaning: Regularly clean the inside of the test hood to prevent build up of the test solution, which could affect test results.
• Solution Handling: Do not return unused solutions to their bottles; dispose of them appropriately after each test session. Mark the opening date on solution bottles and discard them 12 months after opening.
• Storage: Store the kit components in a clean, dry area away from direct sunlight, solvents, and extreme temperatures. Ensure solutions are stored as per manufacturer instructions.
